Let The 2024 Adventures Begin!

Monthly Update!

Happy New Year!

The end of one year and the beginning of another is always a bit bittersweet. In 2023 we saw our confidence as full-time RVers blossom as we traveled to 10 states and 4 Canadian Provinces while covering all of the east coast from Key West in Florida up to Newfoundland in Atlantic Canada.

We put our 40-foot RV on a ferry, snuck in international travel to England and Wales, and had the luxury of spending great quality time with friends and family throughout the year.

We faced challenges and setbacks, waded our way through uncertainty, and all the while remained grateful for each opportunity that came our way.

2023 was also a year of learning and growth when it came to Fulfilling Travel, and we can't thank you enough for trusting us to help with your RV trip planning, RV maintenance needs, and the building of your outdoor adventure bucket lists.

In 2024 we enter our third year of full-time RVing. The journey continues! This year we will head back out west, explore some of the West Coast, and make our way back into Canada to experience the majestic beauty of the Canadian Rockies.

A quick note on U.S. & Canada National Park trip planning for 2024:

  • If you haven't checked it out yet, Canada Parks has released their reservation launch dates here! (Many open in January!!)
  • There are also 9 U.S. National Parks requiring timed entry in 2024: Acadia National Park, Arches National Park, Glacier National Park, Haleakala National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Shenandoah National Park, Yosemite National Park, Zion National Park, and Muir Woods National Monument (reserve through recreation.gov)

This year will also bring plenty of fresh content! Keep an eye out for more in-depth RV trip itineraries, RV travel tips, maintenance resources, and more!

Our mission is to make RVing a fulfilling adventure where you can stress less and experience more and we are so glad to have you along on this journey with us.

Sincerely,

Alyssa & Zach

Travel Tips: Where the rubber meets the road...

Tires are the backbone of any RV adventure. That is why it is so important to always inspect your tires for signs of issues so you can catch potential problems before they become dangerous.

It was on a normal travel day about 5 minutes before pulling out that we happened to notice irregular wearing on one of our RV tires. A catch that led to a last-minute tire change, but also potentially saved us from a destructive blowout.

Tire tips to keep in mind:

  • Inspect Regularly: Check tire pressure and tread wear before every trip. Look for cracks, bulges, or any signs of damage.
  • Proper Inflation: Ensure tires are inflated to the recommended pressure levels according to the manufacturer's guidelines, considering the load they bear. Use a tire pressure monitoring system to keep an eye on pressures throughout your travels and carry a trustworthy portable air compressor for inflation (we have had great success with our Viair).
  • Weight Distribution: Distribute the weight evenly in your RV to prevent excessive strain on any individual tire. Overloading can lead to tire failure.
  • Alignment & Rotation: Consider an alignment or rotation of tires to promote even wear and extend their lifespan.
  • Mind the Age: Tires degrade over time, regardless of mileage. Consider replacing tires every five years or 30-50K miles (whichever comes first), even if they look fine.
  • Storage Conditions: When not in use, protect tires from the elements by covering them or storing the RV in a sheltered area.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Always carry a spare tire, along with the necessary tools and knowledge to change a tire if needed.
