Monthly Update!May was a whirlwind! After leaving the beauty and tranquility of Shenandoah National Park, we headed north to the Finger Lakes. We continued chasing waterfalls and explored a few of the area's many picturesque vineyards and cideries, slowing our pace a bit from the 25-30 miles we were hiking a week in Virginia. If you are interested in visiting Shenandoah, it is truly a hiker's paradise! Our guides to Shenandoah's breathtaking waterfall hikes and the best hikes along Skyline Drive are now live on the blog! We did have our second bear encounter while hiking in the park...so be sure to stay alert and bring your bear spray! After leaving New York we headed back to Massachusetts...the place we both are originally from. We were so grateful for some quality time with family and friends and spent a lot of time unplugged. We also went on our first trip away from the RV in over a year, journeying 10 miles offshore to the rocky cliffs and bird-filled paradise of Monhegan Island in Maine. While May was filled with adventure, it was also a time for projects! We have now officially doubled our RV's solar system (as we prepare for more exciting boondocking adventures), installed a flag pole extension for our Starlink internet as we prepare for our first international trip, and did a whole bunch of writing on the blog. This past month we also made the decision to invest in a new hobby that will continue to take us further into nature. We have a lot to learn and can't wait to share more about that with you next month! June Challenge: Expand Your Comfort Zone
Last month we talked about mindset and taking small steps toward future goals. This month, we challenge you to take that a step further by trying something new or embracing a new opportunity, even if it scares you. We will be doing that this month and the anticipation is full of nerves...and also excitement!
Growth happens outside of your comfort zone. Fear can hold us back, but it is important to remind yourself that you can do hard things. Want to go on a solo trip or try a new hobby, but haven't built up the courage just yet? Is it really dangerous or just nerve-wracking? Don't let life's adventures pass you by... we are capable of much more than we often give ourselves credit for. Do it scared!
The season of road trips, summer vacations, camping, and RVing is upon us! We hope you have safe travels, amazing adventures, and create memories that will last a lifetime and leave you feeling fulfilled. Science tells us that experiences lead to more happiness than material things...so we hope you fill your time with journeys that connect you with the simple joys and allow you to learn and grow in the process. Travel is more than a bucket list item to cross off, it's a journey that has the power to transform! Mindfully, Alyssa & Zach Travel Tip: This summer we will be spending a few months RVing in Canada! This trip just so happened to coincide with the expiration of our passports...and that has been an adventure in itself. We put in our passport renewal applications in December of 2022, as part of the online renewal pilot program (which has since been paused). With an estimation of 9-12 weeks, we thought that would be plenty of time for our summer plans. After 4 months had passed without passports in hand though, we started to worry. Calls to the support number were not very helpful and ultimately we had to fight to get things expedited at the last minute. Renew with more time than you think you need, you never know how long things could take! If you plan to travel to Canada, check out the ArriveCan app to help you get things in order for your visit! Also, check out this guide from Progressive about what you need to know when crossing the Canadian border (including what you can and cannot bring with you) |

Monthly Update! Happy New Year! The end of one year and the beginning of another is always a bit bittersweet. In 2023 we saw our confidence as full-time RVers blossom as we traveled to 10 states and 4 Canadian Provinces while covering all of the east coast from Key West in Florida up to Newfoundland in Atlantic Canada. We put our 40-foot RV on a ferry, snuck in international travel to England and Wales, and had the luxury of spending great quality time with friends and family throughout the...
